Shake Milton, aka Malik Benjamin Milton, is an American professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Milton, the Georgia native, played professional basketball at Owasso High School and SMU.
During his high school career, the shooting guard earned numerous honors. The awards committee named him Tulsa World Player of the Year, Oklahoma Super 5 Player of the Year, and Oklahoma Coaches Association ALL-STATE.
In his college career, he was a member of the US Select Team for the Goodwill Tour in Croatia and was named AAC All-Rookie First Team and All-American Athletic Conference Second Team.
Milton started his NBA journey with the Philadelphia 76ers even though the Dallas Mavericks selected him with the 54th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft.

Early Life, Parents, And Education
Malik Benjamin Milton was born on 26 September 1996 in Savannah, Georgia, to Myron Milton and Lisa Milton. His father, Myron, used to coach basketball at AAU.
Myron always wanted his son to become a basketball player and now Malik has achieved his dream.
But sadly, he was not able to see his son play in the NBA, as he passed away when Malik was about 11 years old.
Myron had an abnormal enlargement of cardiomyopathy, a heart disease that causes heart complications to pump blood efficiently.
Shake’s mother, Lisa Milton, used to work in Savannah to fulfill her children’s needs. Milton has one brother, Myron Milton Jr., and two sisters, Terryn Milton and Valanette Amie.
In an interview with NBC Sports, she said, “When he (Malik) was inside my belly, the doctor asked about him, and I said the child shakes a little. So after that, we decided to put his nickname Shake.”
Education
Milton completed his primary level education from his hometown’s school. He started playing basketball for his school team as a small child.
The shooting guard moved to Owasso High School for further studies. After finishing high school in 2015, he committed to Southern Methodist University despite getting an invitation from the University of Oklahoma.
