During Scar’s storyline, players will be tasked with exploring the mines in the Sunlit Plateau biome.

At one point early in the quest, after exploring the mines, players will find a barrel and they will have to interact with it and the sign nearby to progress.
In this guide, I will explain how to interact with the barrel in the Scar quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley and show you how to craft extra fizzy root beer.
How to Find the Barrel
The first part of Scar’s quest ‘Nature and Nurture’ in the mines will ask players to find whatever’s blocking the river in the mines. The answer is at the camp where the barrel is located.
To locate this camp, enter the mines, head left, then up, then right, and then down. This way, you’ll make a circle and end up at the right side of the entrance. There you will find a path heading up with a small camp at its end.
Interact with the sign next to the barrel to progress the quest. The next step will require crafting an extra fizzy root beer and interacting with the barrel.
How to Craft Extra Fizzy Root Beer
After interacting with the sign, head down from the camp and go right. There will be a green chest there with all the necessary ingredients for crafting extra fizzy root beer.
The ingredients needed are the following:
- Dried Ginger
- Sugarcane
- Vanilla
Any sugarcane and vanilla that you have stockpiled will do the trick. However, for ginger, you need to use the special ‘dried ginger’. Using ordinary ginger will result in making root beer, which won’t progress the quest.
As for the remaining ingredients, sugarcane can be bought from Goofy’s stand at Dazzle Beach, and vanilla is found on the ground in Sunlit Plateau.
